Willie Smith

Willie Smith is an experienced Electrical, Control & Instrumentation (EC&I) Engineer with over 40 years of expertise across mining, petrochemical, industrial automation, and data centre environments. Holding a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering (Process Control), he has led major engineering, automation, commissioning, and infrastructure projects with a strong focus on system reliability, efficiency, and compliance.

His experience includes work on large-scale data centre projects, including involvement in Google data centre infrastructure, as well as leadership roles in mining operations, industrial control systems, and turnkey automation solutions. Willie specializes in electrical reticulation, PLC, SCADA, DCS, industrial networking, and control system optimization.

Known for his practical and results-driven approach, Willie brings extensive real-world industry knowledge into training and facilitation, helping learners develop skills aligned with modern data centre and industrial infrastructure standards.

Prof. Tawanda Mushiri

Prof. Tawanda Mushiri is a Professor of Artificial Intelligence and Executive Director – Technical at the Scientific and Industrial Research and Development Centre (SIRDC) in Zimbabwe. He combines academic expertise with industry leadership in artificial intelligence, robotics, biomedical engineering, industrial automation, and digital infrastructure innovation.

Throughout his career, Prof. Mushiri has led major research, automation, and technology projects across academia and industry, including AI-driven systems, intelligent healthcare technologies, and manufacturing optimization solutions. He has also played a strategic role in research leadership, innovation management, and national technology development initiatives.

His achievements include supervising over 500 students, publishing widely in international journals and conferences, contributing to patented innovations, and receiving multiple awards for research and innovation excellence. Patrick Mureya

Patrick Mureya is a Critical Environment and Data Centre Engineering professional with over 10 years of experience in facilities management, maintenance engineering, and mission-critical infrastructure operations. He specializes in data centre design, operations, and reliability engineering, with expertise in maintaining high-performance electrical and mechanical systems.

He has held senior engineering and leadership roles at Bidvest Facilities Management and Selmec, managing large-scale data centre operations, technical teams, and infrastructure portfolios. His experience covers data centre commissioning, maintenance, optimisation, risk management, and compliance with global standards.

Patrick’s technical expertise includes critical power and cooling systems, reliability engineering, PLC/DDC control systems, electrical distribution, and infrastructure optimisation. Known for his practical and operations-focused approach, he provides learners with real-world insight into data centre engineering, infrastructure reliability, and critical facilities management.

Prof. Blessing Thuthuka Mbatha

Prof. Blessing Thuthuka Mbatha is a Full Professor specializing in Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) within organizational and societal contexts. His work focuses on digital transformation, new media studies, e-government, e-commerce, and e-learning, with a strong emphasis on research, postgraduate supervision, and knowledge development.

Since becoming a Full Professor in 2016, Prof. Mbatha has built a strong academic and research footprint through publications in leading local and international journals, as well as contributions to books and book chapters in ICT and communication studies. His research explores how digital systems shape communication, learning, governance, and business environments.

Through his facilitation, Prof. Mbatha provides learners with research-driven insight into ICTs, digital innovation, and the evolving role of technology in modern organizations and the digital economy.

Prof Malusi Sibiya

Prof. Malusi Sibiya is a Professor of Computer Science at University of South Africa (UNISA) and an AI specialist focused on intelligent systems, IoT-integrated AI solutions, and digital twin technologies. His work centers on applying artificial intelligence to real-world challenges, including smart agriculture, climate intelligence, and autonomous systems.

He is also the founder of Intellibuild AI Consulting and serves as an NVIDIA Deep Learning Institute Ambassador, supporting AI education and skills development. Through his research and industry collaborations, Prof. Sibiya plays an active role in advancing AI innovation and digital transformation across Africa.

With expertise in AI, IoT, digital twins, and advanced data-driven technologies, Prof. Sibiya brings a practical and future-focused perspective to facilitation, helping learners understand modern AI applications in digital infrastructure and emerging technologies.
